Call for VIP’s (Volunteers Intensive Programme) | DOWNLOAD PDF
The Master of Arts in Euroculture, an Erasmus Mundus master of excellence at the Institute of European Studies in Krakow, is looking to recruit students and/or graduates to work as volunteers during our annual international conference from the 20th to the 30th of June 2013.
Every year the MA in Euroculture holds a week-long “Intensive Programme (IP)” featuring conferences, panels, workshops and other cultural activities. Each year a different partner of our international consortium organises this event, and after the last edition in Bilbao (Universidad de Deusto), the Jagiellonian University in Krakow will be hosting students and scholars who will be discussing and debating around the general topic of Resilience, Resistance & Adaptation: Understanding a Changing Europe.
We are looking for volunteers with excellent social skills, proficient in English, a general interest in European affairs and culture and who are willing to engage in a multicultural atmosphere to collaborate in logistic, hosting and other organisational activities. Candidates should be willing to spend some of their time to make sure participants enjoy their time in our lovely city. You will be directing them around the city and the different locations of our events, taking them to the nicest places to visit, the best restaurants to taste the Polish gastronomy, the coolest bars and clubs to enjoy Krakow’s night-life and be able to answer any of their questions or doubts. In short, volunteers will perform the role of ambassadors of Poland and Krakow in particular and should be able to share views, opinions, thoughts and other ideas with our guests during their visit.
An introductory preparation session will be organised for selected volunteers prior to the dates of the Intensive Programme.
- have a very good knowledge of Krakow (transport, places)
- speak fluent English.
- be sociable and have predisposition to help
- enjoy (and feel comfortable in) a multicultural setting
- be available during the IP’s dates
- Send your updated CV
- Write a motivation statement where you specify why you will be the best ambassador to Krakow
- Send an email with the Subject VIP (Volunteer Intensive Programme) including CV and statement to: firstname.lastname@example.org
** This is a call for volunteers, therefore the position is unpaid.
